How to Find Your Nail Size
Step 1: Put a piece of tape (I prefer masking tape, but clear works just fine) over your natural nail, making sure to press it all the way into the sidewalls/ creases.
Step 2: Mark the sidewalls/ creases with a pen or pencil.
Step 3: Remove the tape and put it on a piece of paper and label which finger it is, so you don't mix them up.
Step 4: Measure with a ruler or tape measure the distance between the marks in millimeters and wright it down.
Step 5: Do this for all 10 nails (sometimes both hands are not the same) and compare the sizes to my size chart. Your size is the one that most closely matches your measurements. If none of them are matching, it's better to go a little too large than small, because you can file the sides down a bit, but not more than 1 size. If you need some sizes outside of the given categories, choose the custom option and put your measurements in the description.
*Make sure to measure your natural nails without any product on them for an accurate fit.
**You could also just measure with measuring tape instead of tape, but you may not have any, and it can be more difficult to get an accurate measurement.
How to Apply Press-on Nails
Step 1: Remove any product from your nails.
Step 2: Push back cuticles with the wooden stick or a cuticle pusher. (It helps if you soak your nails in water for a few minutes or even use a cuticle remover solution first.)
Step 3: Buff the surface of your nails gently with a buffer or a fine file to remove the shine and any leftover cuticle on the nail plate.
Step 4: Check to make sure all the press-ons fit sidewall to sidewall. If they are a little too big, carefully file the edges just until there's no overhang.
Step 5: Wipe your nails and the press-ons with alcohol to remove any oils and dust. (Don't touch them with your skin after this point to avoid oils on the nails.)
Step 6 (If using sticky tabs): Pick one that is closest to your nail size, peel it off of the plastic, firmly press it on the nail, peel off the cover, and firmly press the fake nail on.
Step 6 (If using nail glue): Put a small amount of glue on the whole nail, but not touching the skin, and quickly press the fake nail on from the base to the tip. Hold it firmly down for 20-30 seconds.
*Don't put too much glue on, or it will squeeze out onto the skin
* Don't get your nails wet or use any oils or moisturizers for 1 hour after application for the best adhesion.
How to Remove Press-on Nails
Step 1: Apply any skin safe oil to your nails and soak them in warm, soapy water for 10-15 minutes.
Step 2: Gently use the wooden stick or a cuticle pusher to lift under the press-on. If it doesn't pop off with a little bit of coaxing, soak for a little longer and try again. (Sticky tabs will come off much easier than nail glue.)
Step 4 (If using sticky tabs): Peel the sticky tabs off of your nails/ press-ons.
Step 3 (If using nail glue): Gently buff off any remaining glue on your nails and the back of the press-ons.
Step 4: Wipe the press-ons with alcohol and, once they are completely dry, store them back in the packaging or lying flat in a small container.
*I prefer jojoba or cuticle oil, but olive or coconut oil should work just fine.
**The longer you've worn the nails, the easier they will come off.
***This process is faster if you soak in acetone instead, but you won't be able to reuse the press-ons, and it's much more damaging/drying to the nails and skin
